This course covers the following:

 

• What is a “Risk Assessment”?

• Why risk assessments are needed

• Complying with the law and regulations

• RIDDOR & COSHH- Dust, PPE, Hearing, HAVS

• Identifying the competent person and his/her role and  responsibilities

• Identifying and defining danger, hazard and risk

• The 5 steps of a risk assessment (including method statement and safe system of work)

• Control Measures and Practical Actions

• Practical Exercises: Spot the Hazard, Risk Analysis, Sample Risk Assessment

 

This is a combination of powerpoint, discussion and interactive learning.

Participants are encouraged to ask questions and lead discussion.
